Across town or across the world, the super sneaker net-able PRO DI features the DI Pack; a small removable and portable package with sixteen 2.5” laptop disk drives.
The disk redundant RAID protected DI Pack loaded with media/data can be transported to another location and installed into another PRO DI - this enables moving large amount of data conveniently from location to location without breaking your back. This convenience also comes with great performance, connecting with a dual port 4GB Fibre Channel, the PRO DI with the DI Pack can transfer your valuable data at up to 550MB/sec.
Like the full size rackmounted PRO FC, the PRO DI also sports a dual channel 4Gb Fibre Channel high performance RAID controller, 550MB/sec data rate, expandable using the built-in SAS Expander and the PRO DI JBODs and is SAN Ready.

The PRO DI never slows down! Even when it is fully loaded with media. The Impressive high-end performance ensures your project continues at the maximum pace even as the disk array is filling. No matter which RAID protection mode is selected, the PRO DI will not miss a beat.
Maximize both 4Gb FC ports with MPIO and the PRO DI delivers 440MB/sec writes and 550MB/sec reads, these data rates are sustained up to 90% of the disk array. MPIO (Multiport I/O) compatibility is standard feature of all Dulce Fibre Channel products including the PRO DI, MPIO support are built-in to the Mac OS.
 The Dual Port 4Gb Fibre Channel can be connected to your existing SAN network such as Xsan, MetaSAN, SANmp or StorNext, the PRO DI is compatible with all of them plus other compatible Storage Area Networks.
Small but Mighty
The DI Pack measures just a 5.5 inches squares but it can pull it’s own weight and then some. The DI Pack installed in the PRO DI brings real-time performance to your workflow. Multiple streams of real-time playback ensures maximum creative efficiency.

One PRO DI with sixteen 160GB laptop drives in RAID 5. Mac Pro 2xQuad 3GHz, Apple 4Gb Dual channel FC card, OS 10.6 FCP 6.0.6. Streams counts could vary with disk capacities. RAID 6 performance yields similar results. Usage of 1 FC or 2 FC ports (MPIO) does not improve stream count.
