Independent Dual Controller
The most capable 4Gb Fibre Channel storage system yet from the Dulce family. The PRO IDC is designed for high-end and high expectations. Dual high-end RAID controllers, hot swappable 3.5” disk drives, redundant hot swappable power supplies, redundant hot swappable cooling fans are but the many exciting features of the PRO IDC.
The sixteen hot swappable drive bays can be pre-populated with our in-house certified SAS or SATA disk drives. To satisfy extreme performance demands, the PRO IDC uses the optional SAS drives to ensure maximum production bandwidth, but the more economical SATA drives are also fully capable of real-time real-world workload requirements.
The entire system is guarantied to perform in a high-demanding post production and content creative workflow.
Impressive Data Throughput
A single PRO IDC are fitted with two high-end swappable RAID controllers, each controller manages 8 drives and each controllers has two 4Gb Fibre Channel ports, totaling 4 Fibre Channel port. When all 4 ports are used in an OS supported Multipathing I/O configuration such as the MacOS, an impressive set of data rates can be realized on a Mac Pro or a modern Windows computer:
840MB/sec write 970MB/sec read.
In a direct attached configuration, 1 port of each controller striped will produce 720MB/sec, this is when the two controllers are striped together using the Mac OS tool. Unstriped each controller as it’s individual LUN the numbers are 359MB/sec write and 379MB/sec read.
With 2 PRO IDC used - which is often found in a SAN configuration, an even more impressive set of number are produced: 1090MB/sec write and 1281MB/sec. These numbers are demonstrated in capable of supporting multiple real-time streams of HD uncompressed and even 2k DPX film.
Superb SAN Performance
PRO IDC is the perfect choice for Xsan or any shared storage environments. One large storage pool let multiple artists work on the big project at the same time and all of them collaborate seamlessly.
The PRO IDC can handle multiple streams of real-time playback and record, see the tables below for examples of 2 PRO IDC and 1 PRO IDC in a shared environment.
For ultimate performance demands, the PRO IDC with optional SAS drives will provide maximum bandwidth. A very high-end 3 simultaneous sessions of 2k DPX playback and record can be achieved.

In a price sensitive environment to keep the production costs down but without giving up workflow efficiencies, the PRO IDC fitted with the standard SATA drives will still provide an attractive cost / performance balance.
